Frequently Asked Questions

Will I have to pay for the vaccine?

If you have health insurance: Most plans will cover the vaccine at no cost to you. Please call your health insurance provider to confirm before making an appointment.

If you don't have health insurance, or you have a plan that does not cover the cost: You can get a free vaccine at one of the local health department clinics listed above, a state-sponsored mobile vaccine clinic, or a pharmacy participating in the CDC's Bridge Access Program, which includes all CVS and Walgreens stores.

For children and youth under 19, the vaccine is free through the Massachusetts pediatric universal vaccine program. You can look for an appointment with their primary care provider, community health center, or one of the local health department clinics listed above. Your child does not need health insurance or a social security number to get one, and you won't be asked for payment information.

Where can I make an appointment?

In addition to the clinics listed above, you can find an appointment online at vaccines.gov. You can also text your zip code to 438829 or call (800) 232-0233. If you can't get to a vaccine clinic, you may be able to schedule an in-home vaccination by calling (833) 983-0485.
